Details

Located between Leytron and Chamoson, the La Tornale estate was founded by Vincent Favre in 1958. Initially concentrated around Fendant, Pinot Noir and Humagne rouge, the vines then produced other typical grape varieties of Chamoson.

Today, it is Jean-Daniel Favre who runs the estate and has done so since 2002. He vinifies the wines of the Chamoson estate, which represents 8 hectares, as well as the Clavoz estate, above Sion. In addition, 10 hectares purchased from the Chamoson and Ardon winegrowers allow Jean-Daniel Favre to vinify with authenticity and respect for the region's vineyards.

The location of the Chamoson vineyard inspired the name of the Domaine de la Tornale, since Tornallaz ("Tornale") comes from Tournelle, the promontory from which justice was done. It is therefore on the top of a small hill that the vineyard can blossom thanks to almost incessant sunshine during the day.

The soil of the Chamoson vineyard of the Tornale estate is made up of a layer of clay-limestone alluvium covered with gravel which absorbs rainwater well and retains the sun's heat for a long time. The grapes can thus reach full maturity and offer fruity, tasty, distinguished wines with a strong minerality.

The La Tornale estate is ranked among the 100 best Swiss winegrowers 2018.

Marsanne Blanche 2017
Nez intense, agrumes, complexe.

Jetzt - 2027 90/100

2017, Marsanne Blanche, Cave La Tornale, Jean-Daniel Favre, Wallis, Schweiz (Von Schieferböden, ohne malolaktische Gärung).
