“High-altitude wines that express freshness and minerality.” La Revue du Vin de France

“Exquisite craftsmanship on exceptional granite terroirs.” Guide Gault & Millau

“They are brothers, they are young, 33 and 30 years old, but far from being novices. Bandol, the Côtes de Provence, Burgundy, New Zealand: Arthur toured the vineyards of the world before finally deciding to work for himself. He pitched the idea to Eddy, his brother, an agronomist who at the time was working for the Sainte-Victoire Winegrowers’ Association. Together, they found a high-altitude terroir in Roussillon. Éric and Leia Monné, owners of Clot de l’Oum since 2000, wanted to sell. In 2021, the 12 hectares of old vines between 400 and 600 meters above sea level passed from the couple to the brothers, whose enthusiasm for these parcels of schist, granite, and gneiss was not dimmed even by two years of drought. The potential was there, and despite climatic challenges, the emotion for the wines remained intact – both for the customers and for the winemakers. They adapted their practices and began conversion to biodynamics. Altitude gave them freshness when water was lacking, and when it finally returned in 2024, everything was in place. Just the two of them manage the estate, working with horses, aging in large vessels, while continuing to replant this valley of the soul – Clot de l’Oum in Catalan.” The Guide to the Best Wines of France 2026 – RVF

The Clot de l’Oum is writing a new chapter in its history since Arthur and Eddy Bertrand, two brothers passionate about vines and wine, took over this emblematic estate located in the heights of Bélesta, in Roussillon. With a solid background in viticulture and valuable experience gained in renowned wine regions such as Bandol, Burgundy, and even New Zealand, the two brothers decided to combine their strengths and expertise to continue the adventure initiated by Éric and Lèia Monné. In 2020, a true passion for the Clot de l’Oum convinced them to develop their project here, guided by values of respect for the terroir, authenticity, and sustainability.

The Clot de l’Oum is a unique estate, composed of 30 parcels of old vines rooted in soils of granite, schist, and gneiss. Situated between 350 and 600 meters above sea level, these vines benefit from a cool climate and exceptional biodiversity, giving the grapes a rare balance and great aromatic finesse. Arthur and Eddy Bertrand have chosen to carry on the philosophy introduced by the founders: certified organic viticulture, with no herbicides, no chemical fertilizers, and no systemic products. This demanding choice helps preserve the vitality of the soils and highlights the natural richness of this Roussillon terroir.

At the Clot de l’Oum, the pursuit of excellence also comes through deliberately low yields, between 15 and 20 hl/ha, in order to guarantee grapes of the highest possible quality. Each cuvée expresses the identity of this high-altitude vineyard: complexity, freshness, and depth. Their ambition is to continue producing elegant, authentic, and environmentally respectful wines, while bringing their energy and passion as winemakers to this exceptional place.

Thus, the Clot de l’Oum remains more than ever a reference in Roussillon — an estate where tradition and modernity come together to create wines that tell a story of terroir, heritage, and family passion.
