Buying Bordeaux futures by subscription: what is it?

Every year, around the beginning of April, the various Bordeaux estates hold en primeur tastings of the last vintage harvested the previous autumn. These wines, which are still being matured, are presented to the trade press and to professionals. Every year, we spend a week tasting all the Bordeaux wines that will be sold en primeur.

Then, between May and July, the various Bordeaux Châteaux publish their selling prices for the wines that have just been tasted. It's up to us, the professionals, to decide whether to take a position on this or that wine, depending on the results of our tasting and, of course, the price proposed. Once we have made our selection, we offer these wines to our customers at the best possible price. The list of Bordeaux Futures available for subscription is generally published towards the end of June or beginning of July.
