The Château de Macard is a property belonging to the Aubert family, who also own the Châteaux Haut-Gravet and la Couspaude sur St-Emilion. This property is located on clayey-limestone soils planted with 70% Merlot, 20% Carbernet-Franc and 10% Cabernet-Sauvignon. The average age of the vines is 40 years. The vines benefit from green harvests and deliberately limited yields, in order to favour quality. The wines are matured in barrels for 18 to 20 months depending on the vintage.
