Château La Croix St-Georges is a 4 hectare property on Pomerol belonging to the Joseph Janoueix family. Its vineyard is located between Vieux Château Certan, Ch. Petit-Village and Ch. le Pin. The grape varieties are 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc on clayey-gravelly soils. On the façade of one of the cellars is a sculpture representing Saint-Georges fighting on horseback. Indeed, the property had belonged to the knightly order of the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem.
It is the young Jean-Philippe Janoueix who vinifies the wines of Château La Croix St-Georges. They are characterized by an exceptional body and a lot of softness.
