Château Nénin: The Excellence of Pomerol by Nénin
Château Nénin is one of the most prestigious estates in the Pomerol appellation. As a benchmark property on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, Nénin captivates wine enthusiasts with its elegance, depth, and exceptional aging potential. Since its acquisition by the Delon family, owners of the renowned Château Léoville Las Cases in Saint-Julien, the estate has undergone a remarkable transformation and is now considered one of the leading names in Pomerol.
An Exceptional Terroir in the Heart of Pomerol
The vineyard of Nénin covers nearly 32 hectares, making it one of the largest estates in Pomerol. The vines are planted on a complex terroir composed of gravel, deep clay, and sandy-gravel soils. This geological diversity allows Château Nénin to produce wines that are both powerful and refined, with outstanding balance and character.
Merlot is the dominant grape variety in the blend, bringing richness, aromatic intensity, and a velvety texture. Cabernet Franc complements the wine with freshness, structure, and additional complexity. Thanks to this harmonious combination, every vintage of Château Nénin faithfully expresses the unique identity of its terroir.
The Style of Nénin
The wine of Château Nénin is renowned for its natural elegance and remarkable finesse. In its youth, it reveals intense aromas of ripe black fruits, cherry, plum, and blackcurrant. With age, more complex notes emerge, including truffle, forest floor, tobacco, cocoa, and delicate spices.
On the palate, Nénin offers a silky texture, beautifully integrated tannins, and impressive length. Its balance between power and freshness enables the wine to evolve gracefully for fifteen to thirty years, depending on the vintage. This aging potential is one of the reasons why Château Nénin enjoys an excellent reputation among collectors and lovers of fine Bordeaux wines worldwide.
Why Choose Château Nénin?
Choosing a wine from Nénin means discovering one of the most authentic expressions of the Pomerol appellation. The estate benefits from meticulous vineyard management, controlled yields, and rigorous parcel selection. Every year, the technical team strives for precision in order to craft wines that reflect the full richness and complexity of the terroir.
Château Nénin is regularly praised by leading international wine critics, including Robert Parker Wine Advocate, James Suckling, Wine Spectator, and Vinous. The finest vintages frequently receive outstanding ratings, reinforcing the position of Nénin among the great wines of Pomerol.
Food Pairings with Nénin
Thanks to its refined structure and aromatic depth, Château Nénin pairs beautifully with grilled red meats, beef tenderloin, game dishes, roast lamb, and slow-cooked specialties. It also complements mushroom-based recipes, truffles, and aged cheeses exceptionally well.
Served between 16°C and 18°C, and lightly decanted for younger vintages, Nénin reveals its full complexity and elegance. Older vintages can be enjoyed shortly after opening to preserve the subtlety of their mature aromas.
The Great Vintages of Château Nénin
Among the most sought-after vintages of Château Nénin are 2010, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022. These vintages perfectly illustrate Nénin’s ability to produce wines with exceptional aging potential while remaining approachable after a few years in bottle.

Enfin ! 2030-2055 94-96/100 - Review by Yves Beck

Endlich! 2030-2055 94-96/100
