The Château Pech Redon is a 30 hectare estate, ideally situated on the highest point of the La Clape terroir in the Languedoc region. La Clape is a massif located between Narbonne and the Mediterranean Sea, whose highest point is at an altitude of 214 metres. It is interesting to note that this massif was once an island and that is why marine fossils can still be found there at 150 metres above sea level! This terroir of La Clape is the most coastal and the driest in the Languedoc, with only 500 mm of rain per year on average. On the other hand, this climate is softened and humidified by sea spray and altitude.
Château Pech Redon was created at the beginning of the 20th century, but its origins date back to Roman times. It was in 1988 that Christophe Bousquet's family acquired this beautiful estate. Anxious to preserve the balance of the soil and its environment, Christophe Bousquet began using sustainable agriculture in 1998, and finally switched to Ecocert certified organic farming in 2005.
It is the passionate Christophe Bousquet who speaks best of his wines: "Wines a little salty, reminiscent of pine resin, amber, essences of scrubland, thyme, rosemary, bramble with a style of tannins a little apart, not very dense, we are always in the air... "

2017, Château Pech Redon «L'EPERVIER», La Clape, Frankreich (Bio. 60% Syrah, 40% Grenache). Sehr dichtes Rubinrot. In der Nase intensiv würzig, wirkt reif, ein Hauch flüchtige Säure schwingt mit, dazu eingelegte Kirschen, Brombeeren, darüber Gewürzbrot und Thymian Kräuter. Im Gaumen kräftig, mit viel Körper und markanten Tanninen ausgestattet, ein Mund voll Wein, um nicht zu sagen zwei, die Frucht wirkt reif, die Gerbstoffe sind etwas rustikal aber bereits gut eingebunden, der Alkohol von 14.5% macht sich erst bei wärmerer Trinktemperatur bemerkbar. Hallt im Abgang lange nach und hinterlässt dunkelfruchtige Aromen sowie Zimt und Nelken. 2014, Château Pech Redon „L’Epervier“, Terroir de la Clape (60% Syrah, 40% Grenache): Kräftiges Rubin, schöner Glanz. Sehr offene Nase, expressiv, würzig, Pflaume, dazu schwarze Johannisbeere, männlich, rauchig, steinig und mit sehr guter Komplexität. Weicher, fast harmloser Auftakt, dann packt der Wein zu, zeigt eine sehr gute Struktur, reifes, feines Tannin, mittlerer Körper, wirkt erstaunlich frisch und auch hier mit einer steinig-kühlen Note, sehr knackige Frucht, dunkelbeerig, das hat viel Trinkfluss ohne zu überfordern. A lovely robust blend from the Languedoc of 40% Grenache and 60% Syrah which represent a good value for money. This blend has a deep almost black purple color, an intense concentrated nose of black cherries, cooked plums, cloves, licorice and vanilla, a full robust body with chewy tannins and supporting acidity. The wine is full of fruits and lavish tannins, it has a long chewy finish and is full of character. My score 89, drink to 2021 .Rating - Review by Pascal

Dunkles Bordeauxrot, lila Reflexe. 3/3. In der Nase sehr fruchtbetont, da sind Massen an dunklen Beeren, Casis und dezente Aromen von Kräutern. 4.5/6. Am Gaumen kraftvoller Auftakt, sehr schöne Frucht, seidenweiche Gerbstoffe, wirkt nicht überladen trotz viel Körper und 14% Alkohol. 7.5/9. Im Abgang von mittlerer Länge mit einer leichten Salzigkeit. 2/2. Total 17 vvPunkte (87) und ein idealer Wein für die unkomplizierte Tafel. Er dürfte jetzt bis 2018 wohl jedem schmecken, vor allem auch, wenn man den sehr fairen Preis beachtet.Rating
