Discovered in 1995 by Lodovico Antinori the property that will produce the Pino di Biserno is located in western Tuscany in the Alta Maremma region. It is adjacent to the Bolgheri vineyards. The Marquis Lodovico, in search of a vineyard that could complement the vineyards of Ornellaia, was conquered by the wild and densely vegetated relief of the Biserno terroir. The vineyards already present in the shade of the villages and medieval towers intermingle with a lush forest, olive groves and extend as far as the Mediterranean Sea. He decided to create a fully-fledged estate here, joined by his brother Piero and the owner of the land, Umberto Mannoni. Together, from 2001 to 2005, they will plant new vines, all of Bordeaux grape varieties, Cabernet Franc, then Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot in good proportion. The results, especially for Pino di Biserno, will exceed all their expectations.
The 49-hectare property benefits from the spectacular geological environment and weather conditions conducive to the development of great wines, such as sunshine and cool sea breezes. The soils are varied, dense, a mixture of gravel and clay - a special place, according to the Antinori brothers.
The Pino di Biserno wine reflects the unique terroir of Bibbona, a classic example of the Maremma region, seductive and balanced. To be drunk immediately, extremely pleasant in its youth already. According to the Italian critic Luciano di Lello, "A wine from the Tenuta di Biserno, opened one evening unexpectedly, was a moment of complete bliss, whose aromas, like a film, told a whole story.".

Das "Wildschwein von Biserno" prägt ein ausgezeichnetes Preis / Leistungsverhältnis. Der Wein ist kräftig und trotzdem kommt er elegant daher. Samedi je suis arrivé lors d'un repas de travail et vendant l'insoglio comme étant un vin d'excpetion rapport qualité prix. Mes collégues amateur de vins m'on dit que c'était un vin plat et qui n'avais aucune strucutre. Déçu et frustré par ces remarques, j'ai alors eu la même impression que eux en le dégustant.
Je précise que je l'avais décanté et bien oxygené.
Je ne recommanderai pas ce millésime à quelqu'un, mais le 2008 avec les yeux fermé.
