It was in the 1920s that Henri Gouges acquired most of the vines that make up the Domaine located in Nuits-Saint-Georges. His sons, Marcel and Michel, succeeded him in 1967 and enlarged the Domaine to a surface area of 15 ha, as it is still today.
In 1985, with Pierre and his cousin Christian, the third generation took over the farm, joined in 2003 by Pierre's son Gregory. Today, the entire estate is worked according to the principles of organic farming, yields are controlled and the sorting of grapes, harvested by hand, is merciless. With great regularity, the Gouge family produces straight, mineral and deep Nuits-Saint-Georges, possessing superb balances to get through time without any trouble.
"For nearly a century, the Gouges family has been defending the quality of Nuits-Saint-Georges wines in general, and those of the family estate in particular. The current generation, represented by Pierre, Christian and Grégory, is part of this continuity. With a regularity of metronome, they produce frank, straight and deep Nuits-Saint-Georges, which have conquered the taste of demanding amateurs. No breeding artifice or stylistic effect is used. While one must always be patient to capture all the complexity of a great Saint-Georges or Les Pruliers, the wines have, in recent vintages, gained in finesse and silkiness through less rigid, more amiable structures." Nuits-St-Georges 2017Rating
2020-2029 92/100

2017, Nuits-St-Georges, Domaine Henri Gouges, Burgund, Frankreich (100% Pinot Noir). Helles Rubin. Gelungen. Jetzt bis 2027+ geniessen. 17.5 vvPunkte (89/100).Rating - Review by Yves Beck

Nuits-St-Georges 2017Rating
2020-2029 92/100
