Between the villages of Chexbres and Saint-Saphorin, Pierre-Luc Leyvraz is a happy man. With his 3.3 hectares of vines in the Saint-Saphorin appellation, his wine " Les Blassinges" is a small nugget. It is one of the first Swiss wines to have been spotted and applauded by Robert Parker. Prizes and praise have followed one another for more than twenty years (Chasselas Cup, Swiss Wine Grand Prix, Terravin Platinum Laureates). It must be said that his success is not due to chance: this craftsman does everything or almost everything himself. From pruning the vines, where mechanisation is impossible because of the slope of the hillsides, to bottling, Pierre-Luc Leyvraz (PLL for his friends) is everywhere. When he joined the family estate at the age of 17, he already planted plants which, 36 years later, will give him back his patience. His sense of work well done and his passion for his vines has made him one of the Swiss references in Chasselas. This grape variety represents two thirds of his production. PLL is a member of Arte Vitis, an association of 13 innovative winegrowers in the Canton of Vaud. According to him, the land is blessed. The soil, formed 15,000 years ago during the folding of the earth's crust and the formation of the Alps, gives the plants a particular minerality (very calcareous and not very clayey) which is the signature of Chasselas.
The Saint-Saphorin Les Blassinges comes from plots of land vinified separately and then delicately blended. The malolactic fermentation at low temperature lasts two to three months, then the wine is matured in stainless steel tanks for several months.
The Saint-Saphorin appellation is a good reflection of its terroir, with its notes of flowers and minerals. Quince, almond, honeysuckle and, on the finish, a hint of salt and flint are present. With its pale yellow colour, its nose more fruity than mineral and its vigorous mouth, full of ripe fruit and magnificent length, the Saint-Saphorin Les Blassinges has a bright future ahead of it.

Issu de veilles vignes situées sur des sols argileux, ce vin a été élevé en fût de chêne (chauffe blanche, 15% de fûts neufs). Le bouquet est subtil et complexe. Les nuances d'élevage sont filigrane tandis que la minéralité, au travers de notes de pierre à feu se profilent avec plus de pertinence. Caractère juteux et incisif en bouche. Dieser Wein stammt von alten Weinstöcken auf lehmigen Böden und wurde in Eichenfässern ausgebaut (chauffe blanche, 15% neue Fässer). Das Bouquet ist subtil und komplex. Die Ausbaunuancen sind filigran, während die Mineralik durch Noten von Feuerstein intensiver hervortritt. Saftiger und prägnanter Charakter am Gaumen. Helles Grüngelb Subtiler und komplexer Charakter mit einladenden Noten von Lindenblüten, Thymian und Feuerstein. Ausdrucksvolle Gaumenaromatik. Der Wein ist leicht spritzig und hat eine Struktur, die ihm Biss verleiht, aber er zeigt auch Fülle. Fruchtiger und erfrischender Abgang. Ein charaktervoller Chasselas, ideal zu Süßwasserfischen oder Hartkäse wie z.B. Gruyère. Jetzt bis 2029. 90/100

2019, Saint-Saphorin Grand Cru «Les Blassinges», Pierre-Luc Leyvraz, Lavaux (100% Chasselas). Mittleres Goldgelb, etwas Co2. In der Nase weisse Blüten, Pfirsich, ein Hauch Banane, dazu Honig, Apfel, Stein. Im Gaumen weich und cremig, zeigt noch etwas Kohlensäure, die den Wein spritzig und frisch macht, aufgrund des BSA ist die Säure verhalten, harmoniert jedoch wunderbar mit der reifen, intensiven Frucht. Im Abgang ausgesprochen langanhaltend und ausgewogen, endet mineralisch… Wer Chasselas mag, der dürfte diesen Wein äusserst schätzen. Robe jaune clair aux légers reflets verdoyants. Caractère subtil et complexe avec d'invitantes notes de fleurs de tilleul, de thym et de silex. Belle intensité aromatique en bouche. Le vin est légèrement perlant et doté d'une structure qui lui confère du mordant mais il affiche également de l'ampleur. Finale fruitée et rafraîchissante. Un Chasselas de caractère, idéal avec du poisson d'eau douce ou des fromages à pâtes dures, tels que le Gruyère par exemple. Maintenant - 2029. 90/100
