The Cantina del Pino is located in the heart of the Langhe region of Piedmont, above the Tanaro River, this magical area where vines grow alongside hazelnut, chestnut and truffle trees.
Renato Vacca's ancestor was the director of the Royal School of Oenology in Alba between 1888 and 1913. He surprised everyone by settling in the Barbaresco area and buying vines there, rather than in Barolo, which was then better known. There he bought the vineyard in the locality of Ovello and produced Nebbiolo wine, which was first called Barbaresco.
Renato Vacca is a modest and talented character who can be described as a rising star in Barbaresco wines. His wines are very structured and age beautifully. Barbaresco "Ovello" DOCG - 2020Rating
Issu de vigne situées à 300m d'altitude sur des sols marneux et limono-calcaire, ce vin a été élevé dans des foudres durant 24 mois. Profond et subtil, le bouquet s'illustre par ses nombreux effluves. Ainsi, il révèle des notes minérales, des épices douces, une touche d'herbes séchées et des baies rouges. En bouche, la subtilité déclasse la puissance. C'est elle qui mène le vin, communément avec le tempérament et le caractère tonique qui sculptent la personnalité du vin. Il est incisif, linéaire et puissant. 95/100

2014, Barbaresco «Ovello», Cantina del Pino, Piemont, Italien (100% Nebbiolo). Helles Rubin. Feiner, komplexer, nobler und auch etwas femininer, wirkt noch floraler als der Basis-Barbaresco, zeigt einen ganzen Korb Gewürze und eine reife Kirschfrucht. Der Gaumen ist ungemein charmant, man möchte gleich schlucken, präzis, lebendig, gradlinig und mit markanter Struktur, das hat Charakter und Würze, zeigt den kühlen Jahrgang von seiner schönsten Seite. Ovello 2010 : La robe est rubis, violette. Le nez est typique, très élégant et profond, avec des notes de violette, de coulis de fruits, de goudron. La bouche montre une structure très affirmée et équilibrée. Concentration et finesse sont au rendez-vous. Avec l'aération, la bouche s'affirme encore. A carafer. Le potentiel de garde est certain.
