On the plateau of "Batges", a small hamlet of the same name is the place of origin of the Castle Lynch-Bages. Next to the village of Pauillac, in the heart of the Médoc, traces of winegrowers appear already in the 16th century on these lands. In 1749, on the other hand, mention is made of the acquisition - by marriage with a native of Bordeaux - of the vineyard by an Irishman, Thomas Lynch. His wines, which he named "Crus de Lynch", received the honourable rank of Fifth Grand Cru in the 1855 classification. Two other families then owned the building and the land until the 1930s, when a certain Jean-Charles Cazes ("Casa" in patois), son of a peasant from Ariège, who had come to work in the Médoc, received the vineyard on a leasehold basis. In 1939, Jean-Charles bought Château Lynch-Bages, as well as the Ormes de Pez, in Saint-Estèphe.
A man of passion and strong personality, he will make Lynch-Bages an exceptional wine, sometimes elevating it to the rank of second best. Since then, there has been the younger son, André, who took over the reins in the 1960s, enlarging and renovating the estate and pursuing his father's desire for perfection. In 1990, the property has 100 hectares and almost no false notes. In 1973, his son, Jean-Michel, accompanied by his wife Thereza, from Mozambique, moved to Lynch-Bages and became one of the best promoters of the Château. Since then the new generation has appeared and it is the youngest Jean-Charles and Sylvie who are in charge of the family production of a fabulous nectar on mythical lands. The eldest, Kinou, is in charge of the promotion in the world through social networks.
Very close to the Gironde estuary, in the heart of the Pauillac appellation, the estate is built around an old vat room, testimony to a past where working the vines was exhausting, even dangerous. Today transformed into a museum, the Cazes family welcomes visitors to show them the courage of their ancestors.
The climate is known for its moderation, the soils are visible crests of Garonne gravel. The grape varieties are essentially Cabernet Sauvignon, then Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. In 2006, a division of the plots of land with satellite monitoring, a policy of environmental protection, even integrated pest management, and daily work enabled Franck Debrais, Nicolas Labenne and their team to offer a fresh and supple wine, taking shape over the years and possessing the characteristics of an excellent Pauillac. In 2018, the vathouse and the cellars were once again completely rebuilt.
After manual harvesting and selective sorting, Château Lynch-Bages is left to macerate and undergo malolactic fermentation, before finally being blended. Then comes the maturing in stave oak barrels and its aromas.
Opulent, rich and ever more precise from vintage to vintage, such are its characteristics. Young, it remains fine and generous, immediately seductive. With the years, it keeps its grace, develops a fantastic aromatic complexity and is capable of going very far.

Le bouquet d'Echo se révèle en crescendo. D'abord sur la réserve, il s'affiche avec délicatesse au travers de nuances de cassis puis de cannelle, de réglisse et finalement une touche d'eucalyptus. Légèrement suave et crémeux en attaque, le vin a de la largeur et suit la logique du bouquet : il gagne en vigueur le long de son cheminement pour finalement créer une assise solide où tannins et acidité sont en harmonie. La finale, juteuse et fruitée, annonce de belles perspectives. Un Echo qui annonce le grand vin qui justement saura lui faire écho.

Das Bouquet von Echo entfaltet sich in einem Crescendo. Zunächst zurückhaltend, zeigt es sich subtil mit Anklängen von Cassis, gefolgt von Zimt, Süßholz und schließlich einem Hauch von Eukalyptus. Leicht lieblich und cremig im Auftakt, hat der Wein Fülle und folgt der Logik des Bouquets: Er gewinnt im Verlauf an Kraft und schafft schließlich eine solide Basis, auf der Tannine und Säure harmonieren. Der saftige und fruchtige Abgang verspricht gute Perspektiven.
