Valentina Andrei is a very atypical winemaker. Based in the village of Saillon, in Valais, this charming young lady arrived in Switzerland from Romania in 2003, pursuing her passion for vines and wine. Indeed, it was at the early age of 12, during her first harvest in the family vineyards in the Carpathians, that she discovered her vocation. In 2003 Valentina arrived...in the Jura where she started babysitting. During a weekend with her host family, she visits the Valais where the revelation will be made. She will study at the engineering school of Changins where she will brilliantly pass her diploma. Noticed by the winegrower Marie-Thérèse Chappaz, she was quickly appointed cellar master at the estate.
In 2013, Valentina decided to go into business for herself, setting up her own winery in the former premises of former FC Sion captain Fernand Luisier in Saillon. From her first vintage, Valentina Andrei's wines were literally ripped out of the cellar. Having discovered biodynamics with Jacky Grange and then Marie-Thésèse Chappaz, this charming winemaker is pursuing this path with respect and humility in the face of nature, reinterpreting the classic Valaisan grape varieties with finesse.

2019, Petite Arvine «Combe de Noutse», Valentina Andrei, Saillon, Wallis, Schweiz. Kräftiges Goldgelb. In der Nase ein intensiver Duft nach Quitten, Mango, Aprikose und reifem Apfel, dazu Kammillenblüten und Kräuter, sehr komplex. Der Gaumen ist vollmundig und cremig, ein Mund voll Wein, sehr opulent aber dennoch wunderbar frisch, die Säure ist sensationell knackig, verleiht viel Struktur und eine guten Zug. Im Abgang ausgesprochen langanhaltend, endet auf Aprikosen und eine feine Salzigkeit. Vielleicht der Beste Petite Arvine den ich bisher von Valentina Andrei verkosten konnte. Petite Arvine "Combe de Noutse" - Blanc - 2020 : Nez qui vous invite immédiatement à gouter le nectar. Belle structure en bouche, digne des meilleurs petites arvines avec ce petit gout salé qui donne du peps, couvert ensuite par une belle longueur qui rappelle quelques fruits typiques du valais. 2018, Petit Arvine «Combe de Noutse», Valentina Andrei, Saillon, Wallis, Schweiz. Sehr komplexe Nase, deutlich offener als «Ivresse», etwas Herbstlaub, reife Früchte, Gräser, getrocknete Kräuter. Im Gaumen dicht, sehr opulent, enorm würzig und mit sehr guter Struktur, ein Kraftpaket auf dem Hochseil, wirkt etwas hitziger als «Ivresse», zeig jedoch eine beeindruckende aromatische Länge und viel Charakter. Qualitativ ebenfalls hervorragend, mein Herz geht jedoch an «Ivresse». 18 vvPunkte (91/100).Rating
