In the Loire Valley, just a short distance from the town of Sancerre, is the Domaine Tabordet. Of Appellation Pouilly-fumé, made of 100% Sauvignon, the Domaine Tabordet is an "address to follow", according to the Bettane & Desseauve guide. It has also been awarded several times, including the Gold Medal for the Pouilly-Fumé 2015 vintage at the Centre Loire wine competition.
The adventure began in 1980, when the two brothers Yvon and Pascal Tabordet took over the family estate and their desire to create quality wines through demanding and assiduous work in the vineyard. In 2008, the two cousins, sons of Yvon and Pascal, Gaël and Marius, joined their elders. The agreement and sharing within the family has led to a visible and significant result: for the 2018 vintage, Domaine Tabordet is switching to organic farming and the whites are remarkable for their quality, which increases each year.
Representing today 21 hectares in Pouilly-Fumé and Sancerre, the vineyard is made up of clay-limestone soils, flint and clotted clays, and marls, whose expression is found in the olfaction. Vinified separately in stainless steel vats, without sulphur and thanks to the use of indigenous yeasts, the terroir wines are then blended. The citrus notes are immediately noticeable. On the palate, it has volume, liveliness and fruity notes, adding freshness throughout the tasting.
Particularly appreciated as an aperitif, Pouilly-Fumé will be famous as an accompaniment to shellfish or fish in sauce, or even foie gras after a few years in the cellar.

Fruchtbetonte Nase, kühl, steinig, delikat, dezent florale Aromen. Im Gaumen kräftig, mit reifer Frucht, einer rassigen Säurestruktur, die Frische verleiht, der Wein hat Sortentypizität, ohne sich im Kitsch zu verlieren. Erstaunlich langer, fruchtig-würziger Abgang. Top Value. Jung, auf der Frucht geniessen.

Subtil, filigran und komplex zeigt sich dieser Sauvignon Blanc. Noten von getrockneten Kräutern, weißem Pfeffer und Zitronen. Ausdrucksvoller und rassiger Charakter im Gaumen. Der Wein ist temperamentvoll und hat eine gute Aromatik. Salzig und lebhaft im Abgang. Ein charaktervoller Wein mit Ausdauer. Ich bin neugierig, diesen Wein in seiner weiteren Entwicklung zu verfolgen, aber eigentlich denke ich, dass man ihn in seiner Jugend trinken wird, da er bereits sehr einladend und unglaublich erfrischend ist! Jetzt bis 2028. 90/100

Subtiles Bouquet mit Noten von Anis und Holunderblüten, gefolgt von einem Hauch von blondem Tabak. Rassiger und saftiger Auftakt. Am Gaumen hat der Wein Schwung und eine cremige Note. 2018, Pouilly-Fumé, «Les Petites Aubues», Domaine Tabordet, Loire, Frankreich (100% Sauvignon Blanc, die Trauben werden mit Naturhefen vergoren und in Edelstahltanks ausgebaut). Kräftiges Goldgelb. Die Nase ist sofort nach dem Öffnen voll da, zeigt einen Mix aus reifer Passionsfrucht, Pfirsich, frisch gepresster Zitrone und Feuerstein. Der Gaumen beginnt vollmundig, rund und weich, für einen Pouilly-Fumé ist der Wein sehr opulent, gleichzeitig aber auch feurig und rassig, ungemein dicht und mit ausladender, reifer Frucht ausgestattet, diese wird von einer lebhaften Säure gepuffert, zeigt dann am mittleren Gaumen immer mehr Straffheit, wirkt nervig, würzig und hallt im Abgang beeindruckend lange nach. Hier treffen wahrlich zwei Welten aufeinander: Die Wärme des Jahrgangs 2018 küsst das kalkig-kühle Terroir der Loire. Vielleicht eher weniger ein Wein zum Apéro als vielmehr ein idealer Begleiter von Seafood oder einem Meerfisch vom Grill. Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass dieser Pouilly-Fumé auch in fünf bis zehn Jahren noch viel Freude bereiten wird… Jetzt bis 2028, 89/100 vvPunkte.Rating - Review by Yves Beck

Ce Sauvignon Blanc se révèle avec délicatesse, de manière filigrane et complexe. Notes d'herbes séchées, de poivre blanc et de citrons. Caractère friand et racé en bouche. Le vin a du nerf et une bonne intensité aromatique, jusqu'en fin de bouche. Touche saline et vive en finale. Un vin qui a du tempérament et de la persistance. Je suis curieux de suivre ce vin dans son évolution, mais à vrai dire je pense qu'on le boira dans sa jeunesse, car il est déjà très invitant et incroyablement rafraîchissant ! Maintenant - 2028. 90/100
