"David, now joined by his brother Benjamin on the family estate, regularly produces wines in the classic style, without unnecessary taste effects. Entirely located on the Côte Blonde (Maison Rouge sector), the two brothers' vineyard has always produced fine and delicate wines, aged in old barrels. The latest vintages have been exciting, the wines having gained in intensity, without losing any of their smoothness. The estate was awarded a second star in 2012." The Duclaux brothers know that a good wine is first made in the vineyard. This is all the more true in the Côte-Rôtie appellation where the steep slopes require daily and constant effort. No herbicides are used, in order to respect the terroir.
Average age of the vines: 25 to 30 years.
The grapes are hand-picked, then undergo a manual sorting and a complete de-stemming. The wines are matured for 24 months in oak barrels, 15% of which are new.
Food and wine pairing: game, lamb leg, truffle dishes...
The Côte-Rôtie is a wine for keeping. Even if it can be appreciated young after being decanted, the Côte-Rôtie Duclaux can be kept for 10 to 15 years and expresses itself more in a register of finesse than power.

(100% Syrah) Eine kleine Droge ist dieser Wein in der Nase, feinduftig, komplex, floral, frisch, dahinter rote und dunkle Beeren, exotische Gewürze, weisser Pfeffer, florale Noten, ein Gedicht. Im Gaumen die reine Präzision, fantastische Tanninqualität, ungemein frisch, mit Druck und doch viel Eleganz, keinerlei Üppigkeit, einfach nur grosse Balance. Dieser Wein muss sich vor den grossen Namen nicht verstecken, hallt minutenlang nach. Hervorragend. 2021-2042
